Enough about Obama, this blog is about "Going Rogue" by Sarah Palin. I went into reading this book kinda skeptical. I didn't know much about Palin except what I heard on the news. I just figured she was trying to break into big politics using her gender as a card. But WOW! this book grabbed my attention. Sarah Palin held nothing back in this book, there is no walking the line with her. She sets forth her beliefs and politics very vocally. She also points out everything she has done in Alaska and even talks about mistakes she has made. She is a pro-life advocate - her daughter was even on a pro-life poster. She is pro-gun, pro-freedom, anti-big government. And she is a strong Christian who even gives an invitation in the back of her book. I believe she must have read "The Law" by Frederic Bastiat because his philosophy on Government runs as an undercurrent in her book. She comes out swinging and I can't wait to see what she does next. I am definitely inspired by her Words and I would vote for her any chance I got.

Going Rogue
I thought it would be impossible for any modern book about politics to inspire me. I am kind of cynical of politics at this point, okay very cynical. I do read political books but they usual leave me feeling depressed, frustrated and angry. I read "Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama in order to be fair to the um, democrats in my family. Okay, not MY family but some of my -in-laws. I grew up believing that democrats and the Dallas Cowboys were of the Devil. LOL. But in order to be fair I read Obama's book with an open mind, or at least I tried to. But really it was just all talk. What has he DONE? Even before he became president that is what bothered me. He writes like he walks the political middle groung but if you really read about his past and what he did in Illinois (mostly not included in his book) he steers very liberal and socialist. This is anathema to everything I believe. In the book he says he became a Christian because he liked their social causes and it filled a void in his life. Never said that he believed in the Word of God, Jesus as Savior, or anything most real Christians believe.
